Common Core: Korea

Common Core: Korea

Common Core: Korea incorporates articles, lessons, and extensive resources on Korean history and culture for K-12 classrooms that respond to Common Core objectives and history-social science standards. Lessons on Korean art, economics, government, history, language, literature, philosophy, and religion were developed by Mary Connor and educators who have attended five-day seminars on Korean history and culture. Before the publication of Common Core: Korea, Connor was editor and principal author of Asia in Focus: The Koreas and organizer of over 100 days of workshops on Korea. She was a past recipient of the Peace Corps Association’s Global Educator Award.

The book was published by the National Korean Studies Seminar and the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles in 2015. Photographs provided by the Korea Tourism Organization combined with the efforts of a highly creative graphic artist contribute to the development of an exceptionally beautiful resource book for teachers and their students.
